An event enquiry becomes useful when you know the date, venue area, guest count and the service required. Without those details, “How much for catering?” is difficult to answer accurately. Needplug gives Lagos event and catering businesses another way to receive requests and turn them into a clear brief.

Start with the part of the event you handle

Catering, decoration, equipment hire and coordination are distinct services. List what your business actually provides and the areas you serve. Needplug matches customer requests with those details. Enable WhatsApp alerts to receive notifications about relevant enquiries, then open your dashboard to review the brief, ask questions and send your quote.

For example: “I need food and serving staff for a 40-person birthday in Ikeja next month.” Before quoting, ask for the exact date, preferred menu, venue arrangements and service time. This kind of clarification helps you decide whether the job fits your capacity.

Check availability before building the offer

A conversation is not a confirmed booking. Check whether your team and equipment are available for the date, and explain what is required to reserve it. If the customer has not selected a venue, identify which parts of the quote depend on the eventual location or facilities.

For catering, agree on the menu, number of portions and serving arrangement. Ask about dietary requirements without promising an accommodation you cannot provide. For other event services, specify the items, quantities or responsibilities included.

Show what the event quote includes

  • The service, menu or equipment being supplied.
  • The guest or portion count used for pricing.
  • Staffing, transport, setup and collection where applicable.
  • Any requirements the customer or venue must provide.
  • The payment schedule and booking conditions.

Make extras visible. A food-delivery quote and a quote including servers, tableware and clearing up are not the same offer. For equipment or decoration, clarify hire periods and collection arrangements.

Agree on changes before the event

Guest numbers and timings can change. State when the customer must confirm final quantities and how later changes will affect the price. Explain cancellation or rescheduling terms before accepting a deposit.

Confirm who your point of contact will be on the day and when your team can access the venue. Put the final scope, date, timing and total together so both sides can refer to the same agreement.

Why join Needplug?

Needplug can complement referrals, venue relationships and social media by helping relevant customer requests reach your business. The conversation lets you demonstrate that you understand the brief and can deliver a specific service. Joining does not guarantee bookings or a particular level of demand.

If the customer chooses you, you arrange payment and the event service directly. Needplug does not hold customer funds or currently offer escrow.

Apply as an event or catering vendor

Open For vendors in the Needplug menu and select Become a vendor. Describe your actual services and coverage, then follow the current onboarding instructions. Respond to suitable enquiries with the questions needed to prepare an accurate quote.
