Terms of service
Last updated 6 September 2026
These terms apply when you use Needplug, whether you are a shopper looking for something or a vendor selling it. By using our chat, the Needplug app or applying to sell, you agree to them.
Who we are, and what we do
Needplug is operated by NEEDPLUG LIMITED, a company registered in Nigeria under CAC registration number RC 9875324.
We are an introduction service. We take a description of what you want, we send it to vendors we have checked, and we show you the ones who can supply it. The contract of sale is between you and the vendor. We are not the seller, we are not an agent of the seller, and we do not own, stock, inspect or deliver any goods.
We do not hold your money
NEEDPLUG LIMITED does not hold customer funds at any point. Needplug does not currently offer escrow.
Payment, delivery and the scope of any service are agreed directly with the vendor. Needplug does not collect purchase payments, release funds or provide automatic refunds.
Deal cards
A deal card records a price you and a vendor agreed with Needplug’s buttons: the business, what it is for, the agreed price, the vendor’s note if they added one, a 6-digit code and when the price hold ends. It isn’t a payment, a receipt, escrow or a guarantee of the goods. Needplug doesn’t take payment, isn’t the seller and doesn’t arrange pickup or delivery. Payment, pickup and delivery are between you and the vendor, and the contract of sale is between you. Needplug will never ask you to pay us.
A price you take is locked at once. The vendor then confirms they still have it, or tells us it is sold out, which ends the card. Once the vendor confirms, or accepts your offer themselves, they have agreed to sell what the card describes at that price until the hold shown on the card ends. A hold ends at 9pm Lagos time the next day, or on Monday when the next day is a Sunday. For three days after that, the vendor may still sell at the agreed price if they have it, but they don’t have to.
The card has one price for what it describes, with the vendor’s note. Delivery, call-out charges and anything else not on the card are for you and the vendor to agree.
Anyone with your card’s link, saved picture or code can use it, so share it only with someone collecting for you. The vendor checks the code in their Needplug account, and a used code can’t be used again. You can cancel a deal from the card. If a card is marked used and it wasn’t you, or a vendor won’t sell at the agreed price, tell us from the card.
We can’t make a vendor sell. What we do is keep the record, look into reports and act on the vendor’s standing, as set out below. To stop misuse, we limit how many offers and deal cards one person can make.
For shoppers
- The service is free to you. You pay the vendor for what you buy; you do not pay us.
- A price a vendor quotes is theirs, not ours. We do not set prices. When you and a vendor agree a price with Needplug’s Take or bargain buttons, we record it on a deal card. A price you take is locked at once; the vendor then confirms whether they still have the item. Once they confirm, or once they accept your offer themselves, they have agreed to sell what the card describes at that price until the card’s hold ends.
- We do not promise delivery times. We are not a delivery company and we do not dispatch riders. The vendor delivers in their own way, and you should agree timing with them directly.
- Once we introduce you, what you type to each other is between the two of you. We keep a record of the prices you send and agree with the bargain buttons, so either of you can show what was agreed and we can look into a report.
- On the website you don’t need an account to bargain or keep a deal card. Your chat and cards are linked to that browser. If you close the page for 30 minutes while an offer or a “How much last?” is still waiting, we take it back and tell you when you return. Deal cards already made are not affected.
- You must be 18 or over to use the service.
For vendors
- Being listed depends on passing our checks and staying in good standing. It is not permanent, and we may remove you.
- You must respond to requests we send you, even if the answer is that you do not have the item.
- You must deliver what you quoted, at the price you quoted or the price agreed on a deal card.
- When you mark a quote as a price the customer can take, they can lock it until the hold shown. If you no longer have the item, say so when we ask you to confirm. Once you confirm, or accept a customer’s offer, sell at that price to whoever shows the deal card’s code before its hold ends. If you can’t, cancel the deal in Needplug straight away and say why. Once you have checked a customer’s code, you can no longer cancel the deal.
- If you set a lowest price, an offer at or above it makes a deal card for you straight away. You confirm it, or say it is sold out, as you would for a price the customer took.
- Agree on the complete price, delivery charges or call-out fees, and the scope of work before taking payment.
- During the pilot, there is no monthly or per-request fee. Needplug funds NIN and live-selfie checks for an initial, limited group of vendors, including one retry. Availability is confirmed in the dashboard. After included attempts or when places are full, contact support for next steps; no automatic charge applies. Earlier paid checks remain valid under their original terms. Provider or system failures preserve the attempt. Policy rejections have no automatic refund, but support may review refund requests.
- Optional CAC verification costs ₦500 plus Paystack processing fees and adds a Registered business badge and a soft boost in matching. Identity-checked vendors retain basic access. Requests still depend on category, location, buyer demand and account standing; verification does not guarantee a number of requests or sales.
- The business-verification fee covers one registration check. Incorrect details require another paid check. Technical failures preserve the paid attempt. Correcting ownership information after review does not require another registration payment. A successful registration lookup alone does not earn the badge; we must also confirm your connection to the business.
- A Registered business badge means we checked the business registration and the vendor’s connection to it. It is not a guarantee of product quality, delivery or performance.
- You are responsible for your own tax, licensing and regulatory obligations.
We suspend a vendor account automatically when a vendor ignores three consecutive requests, when more than 15% of their recent orders end in dispute, or on any confirmed case of goods not delivered after payment was released. Suspension pauses new requests while we look into it; removal is permanent.
Deal cards you confirm and then withdraw, or don’t honour, are recorded with the reason you give. Saying an item is sold out before you confirm is not counted against you. Once you have five confirmed deals in the last 30 days, customers see how many of them you kept at the agreed price. We review broken deals together with customer reports, and repeated broken deals can lead to suspension or removal.
Problems with a vendor
Contact support@needplug.ng with your request, the vendor’s details and what happened. The team can review the report and the vendor’s standing on Needplug. Purchases are paid directly to vendors; we cannot freeze a payment, release funds or automatically refund a purchase.
What we are not responsible for
We introduce buyers to vendors and review reports about vendors. We do not warrant the quality, safety, legality or fitness of anything a vendor sells, and we are not liable for a vendor’s acts or omissions beyond what these terms set out.
Where we are liable to you, our liability is limited to the value of the order in question. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending it
You can stop using Needplug at any time. Contact our team if you want us to stop messaging you. A vendor may cancel their subscription at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or remove any account that breaches these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
